[:en]On October 29th, we will meet for another CoWomen-Experts talk! The founders of CoWomen Berlin and CoWomen Heidelberg will again share their experiences in the economic industry and the world of start-ups!
What can we do to enable more women to reach leading positions and thereby have a lasting impression on the (working) world? Again, this will be the focus of our talk.
This time, we will focus on the study ‚Women in the Workplace‘, conducted by McKinsey and LeanIn.Org. The ‚broken rung‘-phenomenon, which the study regards as one of the main challenges, is what interests us in particular.
The broken rung-phenomenon describes ‚broken‘ or simply missing steps in the career ladder. Unlike the ‚glass ceiling‘-phenomenon, which describes a stop in female careers when it comes to management or c-level positions, the broken rung describes the problems of women at the bottom of the ladder. This circumstance leads to females being stuck in their entry-level jobs and possibly won’t even reach the glass ceiling.
The CoWomen-founders chose to focus on this problem – as they all experienced this phenomenon and still see it in the companies and organizations they meet in their everyday work life.

Was können wir tun, um mehr Frauen in Führung zu bringen und die (Arbeits-)Welt nachhaltig verändern?
Das wird auch dieses Mal der Fokus unseres Talks sein.
Diskussionsanlass bietet uns diesmal die Studie „‚Women in the Workplace ‘“ von @McKinsey und @LeanIn. In der Studie von 2019 wurde hier der „Broken Rung“ (= gebrochene Sprosse) als bislang nicht fokussierte Herausforderung gesehen.
Dabei geht es um die gebrochene Sprosse der Karriereleiter. Anders als bei der gläsernen Decke bei Management- bzw. C-Level-Positionen geht vielmehr um die Schwierigkeiten, die weiter „unten“ an Leiter existieren. Das führt dazu, dass Frauen oft in frühen Führungspositionen steckenbleiben‘ und gar nicht erst bis zur gläsernen Decke kommen.
Die CoWomen-Gründerinnen haben sie genau dieses Phänomen zum Thema gemacht – denn auch wir haben dies erlebt und sehen es bei den Frauen und in den Unternehmen und Organisationen, denen wir in unserer Arbeit begegnen.
